RETIRED
GREYHOUNDS
Walthamstow Stadium has a retired Greyhound scheme
that is admired all over the country. The scheme
is a partnership between Whittingham Kennels who
are looked after by Johanna Beumer and her team
and Walthamstow Owners Association whose kennels
are looked after by Joy Battley and her team. Money
is raised throughout the year with various fundraising
events and a substantial donation by the Directors
of Walthamstow Stadium.
As you can see from the above pictures (that have
been kindly provided by owners of ex-racers that
have been rehomed), that greyhounds do make great
pets. They are very friendly, very playful, they
get on well with children and other pets and they
also do not require loads of exercise (they much
prefer sleeping on the sofa).
If you are interested in re-homing a greyhound or
just want to know more about the scheme or the two
kennels, please visit the two sites below or pay
a visit to the re-homing booth at Walthamstow Stadium
(open on Saturday evenings only)
If
you would like to help our Retired Greyhounds,
please donate now ....

If
you are paying a visit to Walthamstow Stadium
on a Saturday evening, why not come along
and visit our re-homing booth. John will
be able to provide you with loads of information
on the re-homing process and also show you
a list of current dogs that are awaiting
for a new home.
John's dog Barley and Shadow are also both
on attendance and they both love a good
cuddle! |
